Jakarta, 22 September 2026 — PT Korea Investment Management Indonesia (KIM Indonesia) has officially launched KIM Gold ETF Sharia, a mutual fund established as a Collective Investment Contract and backed by gold, whose Units are listed and traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) under the trading code "XKGS". The product was declared effective by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on 20 August 2026 through Letter No. S-409/PM.11/2026, with a listing date of 22 September 2026.

As part of KIM Indonesia's commitment to introducing investment instruments that meet the needs of today's investors, KIM Gold ETF Sharia combines ease of access to exchange-based trading with Sharia principles, enabling investors to gain exposure to movements in the value of gold in a practical and efficient manner, without needing to hold physical gold directly.

KIM Gold ETF Sharia Arrives

KIM Gold ETF Sharia was established under Collective Investment Contract Deed No. 6, dated 3 July 2026, and Amendment Deed No. 14, dated 14 September 2026, both executed before Leolin Jayayanti, S.H., M.Kn., notary in South Jakarta, between PT Korea Investment Management Indonesia as Investment Manager and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as Custodian Bank.

As an expression of KIM Indonesia's commitment to delivering innovative investment products, KIM Gold ETF Sharia is designed to give investors convenient access to the investment benefits of the gold assets held within the fund's portfolio, a modern solution that remains fully compliant with Sharia Capital Market Principles and applicable laws and regulations. At least 95% of the Fund's Net Asset Value is allocated to gold assets, whether gold bullion, non-physical digital gold, or other gold instruments designated by the OJK, meeting a minimum purity standard of 99.9% (SNI) or 99.5% (LBMA Good Delivery). The remaining balance, of up to 5%, is placed in Sharia money-market instruments, Sharia deposits, and/or cash.

Gold Investment for the Modern Era

The launch of KIM Gold ETF Sharia marks a new approach to gold investment in Indonesia. Unlike the conventional approach, which requires investors to hold physical gold, KIM Gold ETF Sharia makes use of the Indonesia Stock Exchange's infrastructure, so that Units can be bought and sold through the Exchange's trading mechanism — transparently and efficiently, in keeping with the lifestyle of today's investors, who demand both convenience and speed of access. In implementing the product, the Investment Manager and the Custodian Bank, together with the Participating Dealer, have entered into a cooperation arrangement with the Gold Provider to carry out the purchase and sale of gold, so that the product combines the convenience of modern capital-market-based transactions without compromising compliance with Sharia principles.

“KIM Gold ETF Sharia reflects our ongoing commitment to introducing innovative investment products that meet the needs of Indonesian society today. Through this product, we want to ensure that investing in gold is no longer something complicated, but instead becomes a modern solution that is practical, transparent, and fully aligned with Sharia principles,” said Arfan Fasri Karniody, President Director of PT Korea Investment Management Indonesia.
